Homeroom Announcements for a Fresh New Season of Earth School!

Hi Everyone,

Chris here, writing in honor of the Back to School vibes so many of our clients are feeling. Virgo Season always arrives with that fresh, crisp energy. It feels like the perfect time to dive into new studies.

Last week, I began my 2nd semester as an adjunct professor at Roger Williams University, which has evolved into such an unexpected opportunity to learn through teaching. I have been so engaged with the material that midnight came and went last night as I was crafting PowerPoint presentations. Though for me, time stood still. A clear indication that I was in my zone of passion.

Both Rachel and I are grateful for the focus, motivation, and organization September brings. We even joked about buying matching trapper keepers, pencil pouches, maybe even some Slap Wraps to nurture our inner students.

Riding the classroom wave, I would love to share a few Homeroom Announcements (before Rachel’s usual flavor of Newsletter commences below):

Common Questions We Hear

Q: I began the Law of Being previously but due to personal reasons discontinued. Can I return to the program, either for the group cohort or 1:1?
A: Yes! You can continue the program at any time. Whether or not we can pick up where we left off depends on how long it’s been. If your last session was over 6 months ago, we recommend re-starting from the beginning to give you the strongest foundation.

Q: I’ve already participated in one of the group cohorts. May I still join the next one?
A: Absolutely. Not only will this serve as a great opportunity to see how far you’ve come, but you’ll also hear things you may not have had the bandwidth to hear before. Rachel has been facilitating this program twice a year since 2018, and something new still clicks into place with each round. Every experience is unique.

Q: If I’ve already taken the ELI Assessment as part of my first round through the Law of Being, do I get to take it again?
A: Yes! You’ll have the chance to take the assessment again, and your debrief will be considered a milestone debrief, giving you insight into your progress and shifts since your first assessment.

Q: What’s changing about pricing?
A: We’re adjusting our prices to better reflect the value of the work and to create sustainability for our coaching practice. Though our pricing for the ELI Assessment & Debrief, as well as the Milestone debrief will remain the same.

Q: What is the ELI Assessment?
A: The Energy Leadership™ Index (ELI) is a powerful attitudinal assessment that reveals how you show up under stress and in your everyday life. Our client testimonials put it best:

And as the back-to-school autumnal breeze encourages, we have a bustling calendar filled with ways to connect.

Lightning in a Bottle: Remembering Our Radiant White Light Origins

Ram Dass often spoke of the Tibetan Dzogchen practice of sky-gazing, using our gift of vision to merge with the vastness above until the mind itself becomes sky.

Excerpt from Ram Dass, Still Here: Embracing Aging, Changing, and Dying (2000)

For me, this practice also emerges as what I call “cosmic shimmer-gazing.” I’ll gaze in awe at sunlight dancing across the gentle ripples of a serene lake. The impossible spectrum of pure white light, birthed from sun meeting water, lures me into a trance. Blurring and narrowing my vision to amplify the contrast until the shimmers shine like constellations scattered across a dark backdrop, I see our true nature. We are the stars emanating our light into the Infinite Universe. In those moments, fully absorbed in those liquid diamonds, I fall madly in love with the sun. The bliss that arises feels like a message:

This. Follow this.

The Shimmer as the Guru

The sun’s playful footsteps upon water remind me that I AM pure white light. The Law of Being speaks of this essence: energy in its undiluted form (remember the comparison of consciousness to alcohol proof in Segment 5, Being Consciousness?). Our pure energy potential is 100% proof, yet much of it gets diluted by conditioning, fear, old patterns, or (as the Tao calls it) the “Acquired Mind.” Expanding or raising one’s consciousness is simply becoming more of one’s undiluted, pure self. And yet, grounded by the density of daily life, we forget.

This stream of consciousness was initially activated when my gaze into my morning glass of water (pictured here) inspired a meditation on the cosmic shimmer. As I considered the legitimacy of pure white light-gazing as a practice, my inner thoughts began writing, so I pulled out my phone to capture lightning in a bottle via the Notes app. Just as I was getting lost in the details, a hummingbird hovered within my periphery. I wondered what kind of vibes I must have been emanating in that state of Qi cultivation prior to collapsing the waves into particles. Sometimes a necessary step in a writer’s journey, as we attempt to eff the ineffable. The hummingbird showed up to remind me to witness the creative fury, and to actively choose to return to the meditation. I wasn’t complete in my Qi cultivation. I hadn’t yet reached that bliss state in which I am tuned like a lightning rod, a conduit between Sky and Earth, feeling that pure energy pulsing through me, connecting with the mystical nature of existence itself. So I returned to staring into my glass before continuing to write, trusting that inspiration would flow when I was ready to return to the world of language.

Lightning in Our Cells

For as long as I can remember, some of the most mysterious occurrences in existence have been portrayed as flashes of pure white light: neurons firing, synapses sparking, mycelial networks communicating. Even my inner four-year-old vividly remembers the rather educational opening credits of “Look Who’s Talking,” when sperm race toward the egg, set to the Beach Boys’ “I Get Around.” We see Hollywood’s portrayal of the moment we collectively refer to as “The Miracle of Life”: the sperm is received by the egg, and a universe illuminates within the womb. We see flashes of light. Electricity in motion. Energy moving.

Science may attempt to demystify the occurrence as calcium waves, cortical reactions, and the release of zinc atoms, which fluoresce under a microscope. Yet, I feel in my core there is something happening beyond the realm of biology alone. Something beyond our mineral world. For matter to become dynamic, self-organizing, and alive… this is more than a biochemical spark. This is the ignition of life force animating matter. I entertain the possibility that there is lightning in our very cells. That our very species was birthed from lightning and Earth.

Listening to the January 9, 2023 episode of the Emerald Podcast, “Universe, Adorned: Ornament in Culture, Cosmos, and Consciousness,” encouraged my obsession with the cosmic shimmer. On a sunny day, I’d hop into our neighbor’s blue kayak and paddle out into sacred Indian Lake. My temple during my first four years as a Worcester resident. I would become mesmerized by the sparkles dancing on the lake’s surface. Wisdom of the Ages would flow through my awareness just by gazing into the shimmer. And this podcast episode affirmed my favorite practice.

Soon after weaving this spoken word masterpiece in and through the fabric of my feedback loop, my YouTube algorithm so wisely teed up a video of a nurse describing her Near Death Experience. As soon as I heard her description of God introducing her to the essence of her “junk DNA,” every cell in my body nodded as if to say, TRUTH. So our junk DNA is God.

I had never before considered that we might have been misled about our DNA sequencing, as though the Wizard of Oz himself waved a wand before our third eyes, casting a spell so that we might forget our divinity. Though I had been clued into the knowledge that our DNA might have some architectural history and origins.

My concern about the vulnerability of our DNA first arose about nine years ago, when I attended a TEDxCambridge talk in Boston. Kevin Esvelt, an assistant professor at the MIT Media Lab and developer of gene drive technology, stated, “It’s easier to engineer biology than culture, but we must change the culture because people deserve a voice in decisions that will affect them.”

The phrase “It’s easier to engineer biology” kept repeating in my feedback loop. Wait, what? I remember thinking. Is our biology really in the hands of well-funded scientists, and if so, who, pray tell, is funding them? What are these decisions that will affect us, I wondered.

To keep myself from tailspinning into anxiety over industry standards beyond my control, I chose a Radical Acceptance mindset. Gene editing exists. CRISPR technology exists. Therefore, it must be an important part of our Nature. Everything we create is derived from what we already are. Perhaps we’ve been created by curious and loving DNA architects who simply wanted to participate in the Earth experiment. Since adopting such a possibility, I’ve remained open and present for all examples in our philosophy and origin stories to reveal themselves.

Even Skywoman Falling, as told by Robin Wall Kimmerer in Braiding Sweetgrass, involves a woman falling toward a dark lake, appearing like a dust mote shimmering in the beam created by the hole in Skyworld. How miraculous a sight that must have been for the creatures below.

The origin story that feels most “home” in my cells is the possibility that our codes were sequenced by a star family (Pleiadian, perhaps?) who knew how to capture lightning in a bottle and stow it away in our DNA for safe-keeping until our systems became ready for our remembrance. Which is now. We are ready to burst through the constraint. The bottleneck of catabolic culture is no match for our awakening.

A reel I made using some audio from The Emerald’s “Universe, Adorned: Ornament in Culture, Cosmos, and Consciousness.”

Proof for My Logical Brain

When we studied Taoist theory with our teacher Jesse during our Qi Gong retreat in Japan, I discovered a simple truth: Qi is not meant to be conceptualized, as much as our intellect craves tidy explanation. Our Western minds want to point to Qi on a map, locate it, confirm its coordinates, and label it. But the practice itself shows us where to look within, so we may feel it.

When we feel Qi, imagination redirects itself to the body. Dormant meridians awaken. Junk DNA stirs. Ancient codes, like lightning in a bottle, begin to flash online once again after a 10,000-year slumber.

This is proof enough for me. I have felt the energy ball between my hands, a result of cultivating the cosmic shimmer within my cells and within my Dantien.

A Practice for You
This week, I invite you to try cosmic shimmer gazing:

  1. Fill a glass with water, or sit beside sunlight on a lake or stream.

  2. Soften your gaze until light begins to shimmer.

  3. Allow the pure white light to captivate your awareness.

  4. Notice what arises: wonder, bliss, or perhaps a memory of the white light within.

Ask yourself: Where have I glimpsed lightning in my own being this week? Perhaps even a new neural pathway that had gone unnoticed is worthy of acknowledgement & celebration. That new pathway is a flash of insight, setting a whole new timeline in motion.

Growth Mindset is Scary… Skilled Teachers Are Needed
Calling all skilled teachers! Your service is requested as we evolve the collective consciousness in preparation for an Anabolic paradigm, popularly known as the 5D.

The truth is, we are all students and we are all teachers. Yet sometimes the tone we use when teaching one another can be aggressive, maybe even harsh enough to create shame in the recipient. As though we are saying, “You’re stupid for not already knowing.” Such styles of sharing information make the world a scary place for learning, and the vulnerable mind closes as our innocence fragments into oblivion.

Consider all the guards the mind has placed around the heart so we don’t have to feel the impact of those harsh moments. From such a young age, our hard drives fill up with Catabolic feedback. The Gremlin feeds on that feedback and loops it on repeat until our conscious mind can interrupt it, challenge it, and offer a new possibility.

We are all in the early stages of transforming the Gremlin’s energy. Teaching it to become a cheerleader instead of our biggest antagonist.

So the invitation, as we teach one another, is to show up as a coach does: curious, and ready to ask permission before offering a lesson.

I think back to when my perfectionist Gremlin began. Even now as I resist hitting send on our Newsletters, I wonder is this hesitancy a result of having my grammar corrected? Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE that I had family members with such solid grasps of grammar that they’d correct me mid-sentence. I’ve evolved into the writer I am today thanks to such a dynamic upbringing with the English language. Though the pattern did intimidate me. I never wanted to be wrong. I delayed speaking so I could craft the perfect sentence in my head before anyone would have the chance to prove I’m an idiot. So I often just didn’t speak. I wrote instead.

I wonder how it would have landed if my beloved grammar enthusiasts had offered a gentler approach. Maybe asking, “May I share an observation?” Securing my permission, then continuing: “I noticed you said, ‘Who are you going with?’ The correct grammar is, ‘With whom are you going?’” Perhaps with such tenderness, my Gremlin wouldn’t sound like a furious Ren raving, “You eediot!”

My Perfectionist Gremlin as portrayed by Ren Höek of “Ren & Stimpy.”

So many of us have that harsh inner critic who is just now learning how to teach us with kindness.

Another Practice for You, Empathic Soul ~

As we advocate for ourselves this school year, try this:

If someone takes a dig or throws chirps at your expense, practice self-advocacy by saying:
“Hey, I’m really working on transforming the voice of my inner critic right now. It’s a fragile process, and I’m only at the beginning of this integration. I can handle the jokes and humor usually, but right now I’d like my Feedback Loop to be filled with encouraging words of affirmation. Thank you for respecting my inner work.”

Perhaps the most significant lessons we can offer the world are in teaching others how we deserve to be treated. Remember the Golden Rule.

Thank you so much for welcoming us into your Feedback Loop. Please stay tuned as we have so much more expression bursting at the seams. In the meantime, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and check out our Musings pages as well for more deep dives into our quantum fields.
