East Meets West
Where Ancient Practice Meets Modern Leadership
Step away from the noise. Return to resonance.
Some of the world's oldest wisdom traditions invite us to slow down, listen inward, and experience life directly through the body.
Some of the newest discoveries in science help us understand why those practices are so transformative.
What happens when they come together?
Welcome to East Meets West, a four-day immersive retreat where ancient practices meet modern leadership frameworks to cultivate greater presence, knowledge, and authentic connection.
Nestled in the heart of New Hampshire's White Mountains, this experience offers an opportunity to unplug from the pace of everyday life and reconnect with what matters most. Through movement, mindfulness, nature, meaningful conversation, and practical leadership tools, you'll leave with more than memories. You'll return home with practices and perspectives that continue long after the retreat ends.

Her professional path has woven together law, business, coaching, and ceremony into a uniquely integrative approach to leadership development. After graduating from Skidmore College and earning her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, Rachel spent several years in the corporate world before discovering the transformative impact of Energy Leadership® coaching.

Her coaching combines evidence-based leadership frameworks with intuitive insight, creating a safe and empowering space for lasting transformation.
Alongside her coaching practice, Rachel has spent the past eight years cultivating a ceremonial relationship with Cacao, facilitating heart-centered experiences that invite participants to slow down, reconnect, and move from the mind into the wisdom of the heart.
Rachel has a remarkable ability to help people feel deeply seen and accepted. With compassion, curiosity, and gentle guidance, she supports others in uncovering their authentic voice, embracing their inner wisdom, and stepping into courageous self-leadership.
Christopher Peña, MBA, CPC, ELI-MP
Christopher is a leadership coach, educator, and wellness practitioner who believes that our greatest leadership potential emerges when we cultivate awareness from within. His journey began in the corporate world, where he spent more than twelve years leading teams and developing people across corporate, nonprofit, entrepreneurial, and community settings.
After earning his bachelor's degree in Management and Finance from Roger Williams University, Chris built his leadership foundation at Target Corporation as an Executive Team Leader. A life-changing spinal injury in 2015 became a turning point, inspiring him to explore the profound relationship between stress, healing, and leadership.
That experience launched a lifelong study of human flourishing. Chris earned certifications in personal training, nutrition, Yoga, mindfulness meditation, and Qi Gong, including completing the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach and apprenticing under Master Jesse Lee Parker in the Immortal Arts Qi Gong tradition.
Seeking to unite contemplative practice with organizational leadership, Chris earned his MBA from Roger Williams University and now serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Mario J. Gabelli School of Business, where he teaches emerging leaders how awareness, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking create sustainable success.
Chris brings a calm, grounded presence to every retreat, helping participants discover that less stress creates more clarity, resilience, compassion, and purpose.
Together, Rachel and Chris create experiences that bridge the wisdom of Eastern contemplative traditions with modern leadership sciences, offering participants practical tools that support both personal well-being and professional growth.

Return to Resonance
East Meets West is more than a weekend away. It's an invitation to return to yourself with greater clarity, courage, and compassion. Through ancient practices, modern leadership tools, and the support of a like-hearted community, you'll leave with more than inspiration. You'll leave with a renewed way of moving through the world.
When you return home, the mountains may stay behind, but the presence, practices, and perspective you've cultivated will travel with you.
Because the greatest journeys don't end when we leave.
They begin when we return.
PS - Shout out to the inspiration behind this retreat! The ladies at our Abby’s House Gala table. Without your encouragement, this would not be happening. Infinite gratitude for turning toward us and asking, “When are YOU hosting a retreat?” You set this ball in motion.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Not at all. Whether this is your first Yoga class or you've been practicing for years, you'll be welcomed exactly as you are. Every movement practice is offered with options to support a variety of experience levels and physical abilities. Our intention isn't perfect poses, it's creating space to reconnect with your body, your breath, and yourself.
-
The Energy Leadership® Index (ELI) is a research-backed assessment developed by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). Rather than measuring personality, it helps you understand how you perceive and respond to everyday situations, stress, challenges, and opportunities.
Before the retreat, you'll complete your personalized assessment. During the weekend, we will guide you through an individual debrief and group workshop to help you better understand your results and identify practical ways to lead yourself and others with greater intention. This experience is included with your retreat registration and represents a value of approximately $750.
-
Yes. Your registration includes nourishing meals throughout the retreat, thoughtfully prepared by Chef Erin Peña using fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Meals are designed to support your well-being while creating opportunities to gather, connect, and enjoy the experience together.
Light refreshments will be available upon arrival Thursday evening. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided throughout the retreat, with breakfast served before departure on Sunday.
-
Absolutely. We believe everyone should feel cared for at the table. Whether you're vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, or have food allergies or other dietary needs, we'll do our best to accommodate you. Simply let us know your dietary preferences during registration so we can prepare accordingly.

• Portland International Jetport (PWM) – approximately 1.5 hours away
• Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) – approximately 2 hours away
• Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) – approximately 3 hours away
We'll also help connect participants who are interested in coordinating carpools whenever possible.
-
We'll send a detailed packing list before the retreat, but we recommend bringing:
• Comfortable clothing for Yoga and Qi Gong
• Layers for cool mountain mornings and evenings
• Comfortable hiking shoes
• A reusable water bottle
• A journal and pen
• Personal toiletries and medications
• An open mind and a willingness to slow down
-
We intentionally keep this retreat small, with a maximum of 12 participants. A smaller group allows for meaningful conversations, individualized attention, and the opportunity to build genuine connections with fellow participants throughout the weekend.
-
Absolutely. Many people attend retreats on their own, and you're likely to find that you're in good company. East Meets West is intentionally designed to foster connection in a welcoming and supportive environment. Whether you arrive with a friend or on your own, you'll be invited into a community of like-hearted people who value growth, authenticity, and meaningful conversation.
-
Yes. While the retreat follows a thoughtful rhythm, there is also space to simply be. Whether you want to enjoy a quiet moment with a cup of tea, explore the property, journal, read, rest, or connect with others, you'll have opportunities throughout the weekend to honor what you need most.
-
We understand that life can be unpredictable. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your space and is non-refundable, but it may be transferred to another participant or applied toward a future Feedback Loop Coaching retreat or service within 12 months of the original retreat date.
If you need to cancel 30–59 days before the retreat, you'll receive a refund of all amounts paid beyond the deposit. Cancellations made within 30 days of the retreat are non-refundable. Please review our Retreat Participant Agreement for complete details.

Our hope is that you'll return home with more than memories.
You'll leave with practical tools for navigating stress, strengthening your leadership, deepening your self-awareness, and creating sustainable habits that support your well-being. You'll also carry with you meaningful relationships, renewed clarity, and a deeper trust in your own capacity to move through life with presence, purpose, and intention.
